Skala Contracts Ltd.

We have completed a number of installations for Skala Contracts Ltd. and they were the first people we thought of when our prospective customer appeared to need guidance with their new High Street commercial venture.

Our customer had asked us to quote from just an image of a competitors premises on their mobile phone !!  They hadn’t considered the layout and how their retail space could be used to maximum effect or indeed have a any kind of clear brief for us to work to.

Investing some time on design, function and form at the early stages, amongst other considerations, is vital to enable a project to run smoothly, within budget, on time and with the desired end result, a great looking profitable new business.

Lets hope they take our advice …..

JHS Rimini carpet tiles

Today we’ve been installing JHS Rimini carpet tiles into a sales office on a Cameron Homes site in Tamworth.

The install included an initial all over application of a surface tackifier. This will prevent any movement or curling of tiles in the future.

Notice the Entrance matting flush and level to the carpet tiles to eliminate any trip hazard.2015-06-09 12.48.50

Karndean with a Keyline Border

The pictures here show the process involved when installing Karndean, or any LVT, over a new solid floor that has residual construction moisture present. A Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) is applied to the sub-floor, then primed when dry and overlaid with a smoothing compound. When the smoothing compound is dry we can start to mark out the Keyline Border and commence the installation.

I think we could stop at the DPM … it’s a lovely colour blue don’t you think ??
